Synthetic Polymers

Synthetic polymers are chemicals composed of repeating structural units, derived from petroleum and natural gas, that are connected to form long chains. These polymers can be formed into a range of products, such as plastics, rubber, adhesives, resins, coatings, fibers and synthetic membranes. Synthetic polymers are widely used in industry, agriculture, and everyday life and are now found in almost every product we use. They have made our lives easier and safer by providing a wide range of physical and chemical properties. The usage of synthetic polymers ranges from lightweight packaging to heavy-duty machinery components, from fuel-efficient cars to water resistant fabrics. Synthetic polymers have revolutionized all aspects of human life and thus have an immense significance in our daily lives.
