Plant Genetics
Plant genetics is the scientific study of heredity and genetic variation in plants. It is a field of research that examines how genes influence characteristics such as plant growth, disease resistance, and overall plant health. Genetic research has allowed us to develop improved varieties of crops, improve pest and disease control, increase crop yields, and develop new varieties of plants. Plant genetics can also be used to create genetically modified organisms (GMOs), which have the potential to solve world hunger by providing new sources of food. These technologies have also been used to create novel biotechnology products, ranging from pharmaceuticals to biofuels.
