Overview

Urban Forestry is the practice of responsibly managing and cultivating trees and other vegetation in urban areas. Urban Forestry is important for several reasons: it improves air and water quality, reduces temperatures in the summer, increases biodiversity, and provides habitat for wildlife. In addition, it provides psychological and social benefits to the local community, such as reducing stress and enhancing mental well-being, as well as improving the aesthetic appeal of a city. Urban Forestry can be managed through proper tree selection and care, as well as proper planting and pruning techniques, to enhance both the environment and the quality of life for urban residents.
