Overview
Melatonin is a hormone naturally produced in the brain. It regulates the sleep-wake cycle and is important in maintaining balance in our circadian rhythms. It is produced in the evening, which helps people to fall asleep, and its production declines when exposed to bright light. Melatonin is used as a dietary supplement to help with sleep disorders, jet lag, and other anxiety-related issues. It has also been studied and found to be beneficial in a variety of other areas such as reducing the risk of cancer, treating ADHD, and improving cognitive health and memory. Melatonin is an important hormone with a variety of health benefits, making it an important supplement to consider.
