Overview

An ecosystem is a biological environment consisting of living organisms, such as animals and plants, and their non-living components, such as the air, water, sunlight, and soil. Ecosystems facilitate a wide variety of important interactions between these components, resulting in essential services that are essential for human life and the health of the planet. These services include the production of oxygen and food, as well as the regulation of climate, water cycles, and pest control. Ecosystems are also important for the conservation of biodiversity, which is essential for the continued health of the ecosystem and our planet as a whole.
