Aquatic Resource Science

Aquatic resource science is a multidisciplinary field of research focused on the study of aquatic resources, such as rivers, lakes, oceans, wetlands and other aquatic ecosystems. These resources are essential for the sustenance and health of human societies, as well as other life forms, and their study is critical to understanding and managing them effectively. The research conducted under this field is typically broad in scope, and involves multiple disciplines such as ecology, hydrology, geology, and climate science, among others. Aquatic resource science provides the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, protect, and improve the quality of our aquatic resources, and can be utilized to build sustainable practices that can benefit watersheds, fisheries and other aquatic systems.
