Pharmacology

Pharmacology is the scientific study of drugs and their effects on the body. It is a key component of the healthcare industry, used to identify, develop, manufacture, and evaluate safe and effective medications to treat a variety of diseases, disorders, and conditions. Pharmacology is applied to clinical practice, allowing physicians and other healthcare professionals to design the most effective treatment plans for their patients. In addition, pharmacologists investigate the biochemical and physiological mechanisms of drugs, allowing them to understand how drugs interact with the body and uncover potential side effects of medications. Pharmacology also helps inform public health policies related to drug usage, which can ultimately create safer medication use and help reduce the burden of disease.
