Patient Advocacy
Patient advocacy is an important role in healthcare that involves working with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure that the patient's best interests are met. It involves presenting the patient’s position to healthcare providers and working to protect the patient’s rights, ensure access to services, and seek resources to improve the patient’s care and outcomes. Patient advocacy is increasingly being recognized for its contribution to patient-centered care, helping to reduce healthcare disparities, identify gaps in care, and improve patient safety and outcomes.
