Overview
Ticks are small arachnids found all over the world. They feed on the blood of animals, including humans, and can be vectors of disease. They are often found in areas with dense vegetation, as they are highly adapted to their environment. Ticks are known to carry a range of diseases, such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and babesiosis. These illnesses can cause serious and long-term health problems if left untreated. Prevention is key when dealing with ticks, as removing them quickly can reduce the risk of contracting a disease. Prevention methods include using insect repellents, wearing long pants and socks, and avoiding areas with tall grass and weeds.
