Prevalence Intestinal Parasites
Prevalence of intestinal parasites, also known as parasitosis, is a major public health problem worldwide. It is estimated that more than 3.5 billion people are affected by one or more forms of intestinal parasites. These parasites cause a wide range of illnesses, ranging from dysentery and fever to malnutrition, anaemia and even death in some cases. Intestinal parasites can be eliminated through proper sanitation, improved water quality and hygiene practices and by taking preventive measures such as regular deworming. Effective diagnosis and treatment of parasitosis is important in order to prevent further transmission and spread of the disease. The accurate assessment of prevalence of intestinal parasites is also essential for the implementation of prevention and control strategies and for understanding the disease burden.
