Parasitic Intestinal Diseases
Parasitic intestinal diseases are a group of illnesses caused by infection from parasites that live in the gastrointestinal tract. These diseases can cause a wide range of symptoms, such as abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, nausea, and vomiting. The most common parasites that can cause these diseases are roundworms, tapeworms, and protozoa. Some of the more serious complications resulting from parasitic intestinal disease include malnutrition, organ damage, and anemia. Treatment usually involves the use of antiparasitic drugs to help eliminate the parasite. Prevention includes good hygiene, avoiding contact with contaminated surfaces, and ensuring food is cooked properly. Understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatments associated with parasitic intestinal diseases is important in order to prevent these infections from occurring.
