Parasite Proteomics
Parasite proteomics is the study of the proteome of a parasite. The proteome is the entire set of proteins expressed by an organism at any given time. Through the use of proteomics, researchers are able to study the global protein expression of parasites to better understand their mechanisms of action in disease. Understanding the parasite proteome can also lead to the development of new therapeutics and improved diagnostic tests. Furthermore, research into this area can provide insights into how a parasite adapts to changes in its environment. This knowledge can be used to enhance our ability to control and prevent parasitic diseases in humans, animals, and plants.
