Parasite Biology

Parasite biology is the study of organisms that live on or within other organisms (hosts) and depend on them for their survival. Parasites have a wide range of forms and usually have an intricate relationship with their hosts. They can cause diseases and can have an impact on the ecology of the environment they inhabit. By understanding the biology of parasites, scientists can better prevent and treat diseases that are caused by parasites, as well as study other interactions between parasites and their hosts.
