Lice
Lice are small parasitic insects found on mammals and birds that feed off of their hosts’ blood. They are a frequent problem for humans, especially for children, who may be afflicted with head lice or body lice. Lice can cause irritation and itching, but can also carry and spread diseases. To prevent the spread of lice, it is important to be aware of their presence and to practice good hygiene and effective treatment. Treatment options include manual removal, chemical treatments, or combing with a specialized lice comb. Although lice can be an annoyance, they provide valuable lessons on the importance of personal hygiene, the spread of infectious diseases, and the effects of organisms on the environment.
