Clonorchis Sinensis
Clonorchis Sinensis is a type of parasitic flatworm, also known as an Oriental liver fluke, which is commonly found infecting the liver of humans and other mammals in Asia. Clonorchis Sinensis is a major cause of morbidity in areas where its prevalence is high, leading to symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, jaundice, anorexia, and diarrhea. It can also lead to serious conditions such as cholangiocarcinoma, a cancer of the bile ducts. Treatment for this parasite is possible if diagnosed early, but there is no vaccine currently available to prevent its spread. In order to reduce its impact, public health measures such as proper sanitation and hygiene need to be implemented.
