Apicomplexan Parasites

Apicomplexan parasites are a group of single-celled parasites found in a variety of different hosts, including humans. They're significant because they are common causes of serious illnesses, such as malaria, cryptosporidiosis, and toxoplasmosis. Apicomplexans cause these diseases by invading the cells of the host and damaging them, leading to the development of symptoms. Apicomplexan parasites can be treated with a variety of drugs, but it is important to seek medical attention if you think you may be infected. With appropriate medical treatment and preventative measures, the risks of serious health complications from apicomplexan parasites can be minimized.
