Animal Parasitology
Animal Parasitology is the study of parasites that live in or on animals. It is an interdisciplinary field of research and is of great importance for understanding animal health, nutrition, and ecology. Parasites can cause a wide range of diseases, including malaria, rabies, Lyme disease, and tapeworm and can reduce animal productivity, lead to the death of animals and cause food-borne and water-borne illnesses in humans. Animal Parasitology helps us to understand how these parasites affect animals, how they can be prevented and how to control their spread. Sufficient knowledge in this field is essential for safeguarding the health of animals, people and the environment.
