Sphincterotomy
Sphincterotomy is a medical procedure used to treat people with symptoms of disorders of the anal sphincter. It involves making an incision to the anal sphincter. It is most often used for medical conditions such as rectal and anal fissures, rectal prolapse, and chronic constipation. Sphincterotomy has the potential to improve the quality of life significantly for many individuals with anal sphincter-related issues. It can provide lasting relief from pain and discomfort, as well as improve bowel function and control. Specialized training and skill are essential for successful sphincterotomy procedures.
