Overview

Temporal bone deformation is a disorder in which the bones located in the area of the ear, known as the temporal bones, deviate from their normal shape. This condition can limit the range of motion of the skull, can interfere with the flow of fluids in the ear, and can cause hearing and balance issues. It can also cause pain in the temporomandibular joint of the jaw. Treatment may include surgical correction and physical therapy. Early detection and intervention can help to improve the long-term outcomes for individuals affected by this disorder.
