Overview

Tissue injury refers to the destruction of cells, tissues, and organs caused by physical, chemical, or biological trauma. It is associated with a complex cascade of immune and inflammatory responses, tissue repair, and ultimately tissue regeneration. Tissue injury is significant because it can lead to the disruption of vital functions and organs, and can cause severe, long-term health consequences. Its treatment involves the use of wound dressings, antibiotics, and surgery. Tissue injury is of utmost importance because, if improperly managed, it can significantly interfere with normal body functions and lead to severe disabilities and even death.
