Overview

Thoracic transplantation is a complex and innovative surgical procedure that replaces a person's diseased heart and/or lungs with healthy organs from a donor. This procedure is considered to be the last resort for people suffering from end-stage cardiac and/or pulmonary diseases, as it offers them a second chance at life. Through thoracic transplantation, patients can greatly improve their quality of life and extend their life expectancy. Additionally, this procedure can be used to improve the functioning of other organs, such as the liver, which can become affected by heart or lung failure. Thoracic transplantation is a revolutionary procedure that has saved the lives of many and given hope to many patients and families.
