Overview

The post-transplant phase describes the period of time after a patient has undergone an organ transplant. During this period, the patient is being monitored and undergoes immunosuppressive therapy to ensure that the implanted organ is accepted by the patient's body. This is a critical stage of transplant care to ensure a successful outcome, as the patient's immune system needs to be suppressed enough to prevent the body from rejecting the new organ. The successful outcome of post-transplant care can save a patient's life, leading to improved quality of life and a longer life expectancy. Additionally, post-transplant care can reduce the costs associated with a prolonged hospital stay and provide the patient with improved access to medical care.
