Autograft

An autograft is a type of grafting procedure in which living tissue from the donor's body is re-implanted into the same donor. Autografts are often used in a variety of medical and surgical procedures such as plastic surgery and tissue engineering. Autografts are generally preferred over allografts and xenografts due to the decreased risk of immune system rejection and infection. Autografts are especially beneficial in orthopedic surgeries, reconstructive surgeries, and transplants. Autografting can also be used to expedite the healing process, reduce overall costs, reduce hospitalization times, and improve the patient's quality of life. Autografting is a powerful medical tool that has been instrumental in improving the lives of countless individuals.
