Overview

Mental health eating disorders refer to a group of conditions that involve serious disturbances in eating behaviour. People with eating disorders may try to control their weight, body shape and food intake by eating too little or too much, purging, or binging. Eating disorders affects people of all ages and can have serious physical, emotional and social implications. Early recognition and treatment of an eating disorder can drastically improve health outcomes, so it is important to create awareness and to seek help and support when it is needed.
