Insulin Resistance
Insulin resistance is a condition where the body does not respond adequately to the hormone insulin. This can result in higher than normal levels of glucose in the blood. Insulin resistance is associated with a number of serious health issues including type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and even some types of cancer. By managing insulin resistance through diet, exercise, and medications, people can reduce their risk of developing these conditions and their associated risks. Through understanding and better management of insulin resistance, people can improve their overall health and quality of life.
