Overview
Eating disorders are a group of conditions that involve disordered eating patterns that cause physical and psychological harm. These conditions include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified eating disorders. Eating disorders can lead to serious physical and mental health issues, including an imbalanced nutritional intake, an unhealthy body weight, and psychological distress. Treating eating disorders often involves a combination of approaches such as psychotherapy, nutritional counseling, and medical care. Early intervention is key and can help to improve an individual's physical and mental health.
