Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a lipid molecule found in most animal cells. It is critically important for producing hormones and maintaining healthy cell membranes. Too much cholesterol can lead to health issues such as atherosclerosis, a condition where artery walls become stiff and narrow, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. To reduce the risk of these health conditions, it is important to consume foods that are low in cholesterol and saturated fat, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Cholesterol can also be used to diagnose certain health problems, such as heart disease and kidney dysfunction.
