Statistical Dispersion

Statistical dispersion is a measure of how widely spread out a set of data is. It is a measure of the extent to which values in a dataset differ from the average value. It is an important concept in statistics and engineering, used to assess the reliability of an estimate, evaluate the degree of variability in a dataset and compare datasets. Statistical dispersion can be used to make conclusions about a smaller dataset, for example to assess whether the data points are being evenly spread out or whether there is a concentration of points near the mean. In addition, dispersion can provide insights into the relationships among variables in a dataset.
