Remote Sensing

Remote sensing is the use of cameras, satellites and other sensing technologies to measure and observe the Earth’s surface and atmosphere. By combining information from remote sensors with other data, analysts can create detailed maps and images that can be used to monitor and measure large areas of land, ocean, and atmosphere. Remote sensing can be used to measure the health of forests, assess air and water quality, monitor climate change, understand geography and geology, and provide information to support development and conservation efforts. Remote sensing is an important tool for researchers, scientists and decision makers to better understand the Earth and to make more informed decisions.
