Random Variables
Random variables are mathematical objects that represent the possible outcomes of a random experiment. They can take on any numerical value within their range, which can be a finite set of numbers, such as heads or tails when flipping a coin, or an infinite set of numbers, such as the number of times a light switch is flipped. Random variables are used to represent uncertain events, and can be used to model complex phenomena such as weather patterns, economic fluctuations, or stock market values. They are also used in calculations for probability and statistics, allowing academics, scientists, and businesses to make educated decisions based on the probability of the success of the event or experiment.
