Electroencephalography

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-invasive procedure that records electrical activity in the brain. It involves placing electrodes on the scalp to measure the electrical impulses generated by nerve cells in the brain. EEG is used to diagnose and monitor neurophysiological conditions such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and concussions. It can also provide a map of brain activity to aid in the investigation of brain trauma or tumors, and can be used in the study of conscious states and various types of mental disorders. Neurologists, psychiatrists, and clinical neuropsychologists are the main specialists who use EEG to assess and diagnose neurological and mental health conditions.
