Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurological disorder that affects an individual's motor function. It is caused by the degeneration of brain cells which control movement. Symptoms of PD can include tremors, rigidity, slow movement, and impaired balance and coordination. PD has no known cure, but treatments can help alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life. Many PD treatments are available, including exercise, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and medications. Research is also being conducted to develop new treatments and find a cure.
