Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive decline in the function of the kidneys caused by long-term damage or disease. It affects millions of people worldwide and can lead to life-threatening complications if left untreated. CKD is typically diagnosed through simple blood tests, urine tests and imaging studies. Early diagnosis and treatment of CKD is important for reducing the risk of serious health problems. Common treatments for CKD include lifestyle modifications such as reducing salt intake and avoiding certain medications; dietary changes; and medications to slow down the progression of the disease.
