Traumatic Injury
Traumatic injury is the physical damage to the body caused by a traumatic event, such as a car accident, a fall, or a gunshot wound. Traumatic injury can range in severity, from minor—such as a bruise—to serious, such as organ damage, amputation, or even death. Traumatic injury can have a substantial impact on a person’s life, as it can cause physical and psychological harm. Treatment for traumatic injury typically includes surgery, physical therapy, and psychological counseling. Early detection and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of long-term complications. Preventive measures, such as wearing a seat belt and avoiding risky activities, can help reduce the risk of traumatic injury.
