Lesions

Lesions are abnormal tissue changes that can occur due to disease, infection, or injury. Lesions can be painful or without symptoms and vary in size, shape, and color. Generally, medical practitioners diagnose and treat lesions that appear on the skin, although lesions can form in any of the body’s tissues or organs. Lesions can be caused by a variety of medical conditions and the treatment for each type of lesion may vary. Depending on the type and severity of the lesion, treatments may range from antibiotics to surgery. Lesions can appear as growths, sores, discoloration, or lumps and can be both treated and monitored closely to ensure successful management of the condition.
