Neurolinguistics

Neurolinguistics is the area of study that researches the relationship between language and the brain. It uses methods of neuroscience to study the biological processes that underlie language and its usage. Neurolinguistics is important for understanding the neurological bases of language use, comprehension and learning. This field helps in diagnosing and treating language-related disorders, such as aphasia which affects an individual’s ability to use language. It also helps us understand how the human brain processes and interprets language, so as to inform language teaching policies.
