Language Assessment
Language assessment is a process that evaluates an individual's ability to understand or use language. It can include tests of spoken and/or written language, or information-gathering techniques such as interviews or narrative tasks. Language assessment is important because it provides insight into people's communication abilities and establishes a baseline of language skills that can be used to plan educational, therapeutic, or rehabilitation programs. Language assessments are used in a variety of contexts, including but not limited to education, healthcare, and criminal justice. By providing an accurate assessment of language competency, language assessment can help improve communication outcomes and support the development of language skills.
