Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a procedure where an instrument known as an endoscope is inserted into the body to observe the inside of an organ or tissue. During the procedure, images and video of the interior of organs and tissues can be captured for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Endoscopy is used to diagnose and treat various conditions and diseases, such as stomach ulcers, gallstones and cancer. Endoscopy also serves to guide other treatments, such as surgery, and helps to identify bleeding, tumors and blocked vessels. Endoscopy is considered an important tool in the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions and has helped to improve the outcomes of many patients.

Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure which uses a special surgical instrument called a laparoscope to look inside the body or to perform certain operations. A more recent technique called single-port laparoscopy involves operating through the same incision through which the laparoscope was passed.
