Discuss an arrangement
Authors, research groups and institutions may contact the publisher about membership options. Before entering an arrangement, obtain written terms describing the price, duration, eligible authors, covered titles and services. Existing agreements are governed by their written terms.

What the agreement should specify
- Costs and coverage
- Membership fees, any agreed APC treatment, eligible manuscript categories, covered titles and any limits on coverage.
- Eligibility
- Which corresponding authors or institutional affiliations qualify under the arrangement.
- Duration and renewal
- The start and end dates and any renewal procedure.
- Payment and cancellation
- Payment, invoicing and cancellation conditions agreed before the arrangement starts.
Independence
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships and editorial roles.
Peer-review and editorial handling follow the same journal policies for every manuscript. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Editor- and reviewer-authored work is handled independently where conflicts arise.
Charges
Publication charges
The standard JWMH APC is USD 1,200, charged after acceptance. Any agreed membership treatment of that charge must be stated in the written arrangement. The APC page sets out the publisher’s withdrawal policy.
