Membership

Membership is an optional arrangement with Open Access Pub, the publisher of the Journal of Public Health International. It is intended for researchers, academic departments and organizations that support open-access publishing and want an agreed arrangement with the publisher across its journals.

Purpose

What membership is for

Open-access journals publish articles free to read under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, with costs met through article processing charges rather than subscriptions. Membership gives individual researchers and institutions a way to support this model through an agreement with the publisher.

Membership is separate from the editorial work of the journal. Manuscripts from members and non-members are handled through the same editorial process, and membership has no bearing on the review or acceptance of any manuscript.

Publishing at JPHI

How membership relates to publishing

Editorial decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. They remain independent of fees, services, memberships and roles.
Article processing charge
The APC for JPHI is USD 1,800, payable only after acceptance; withdrawal after submission is subject to the journal's withdrawal policy. Full details are on the Article Processing Charges page.
Fee relief
Fee-relief inquiries are considered case by case; contact the editorial office before or at submission.
Membership plans

Plans and fees

Membership fees are listed in US dollars. Each plan is valid for the term shown; benefits are used within that term. An early renewal is offered at a 10% renewal discount.

In each table, the standard APC total is the number of accepted articles covered multiplied by the JPHI article processing charge of USD 1,800. The membership fee payable is the amount paid for the plan, and the saving is the difference between the two.
