Indexing, discovery and preservation
How JNRT content is identified, registered, found and preserved. Journal identifiers, DOI registration, discovery services and digital preservation are different services, and each is described separately below.
Journal identifier, DOI registration and discovery services
The ISSN identifies the journal and Crossref registers a DOI for each article. Discovery services collect scholarly metadata so that readers can find articles; inclusion in a discovery service is separate from selective journal-level indexing.
ISSN 2470-5020
The journal is registered with the ISSN International Centre under ISSN 2470-5020.

Each published article is registered with Crossref and assigned a DOI (10.14302/issn.2470-5020…), a persistent identifier for citation and linking.
Search Crossref →Google Scholar
JNRT articles can be found in Google Scholar, a search service for scholarly literature.
Search Google Scholar →OpenAlex
The journal has a source record in OpenAlex, an open catalog of scholarly works, under ISSN 2470-5020.
View the OpenAlex record →PubMed Central deposit through NIHMS
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS).
Individual deposit through NIHMS applies to a single manuscript and is separate from journal-level indexing in PubMed, MEDLINE or PubMed Central.
Long-term preservation with Portico
This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
Helping readers find your article
Clear, consistent metadata helps search and discovery services connect an article with related work.
- Use a clear, specific title and consistent keywords that describe the neuroscience or neurological question.
- Add your ORCID iD and accurate funding statements to support attribution and metadata matching.
- Keep your name consistent with the form used in your earlier publications.
- Write a concise abstract suited to the article type and give complete references with DOIs where available.
