Translational research from mechanism to clinical application, with a biological or mechanistic basis.
The journal publishes translational research that moves a biological or mechanistic finding toward clinical application. It is written for laboratory scientists, clinical investigators, biomarker and drug-development researchers, and clinicians who apply their findings.
The journal welcomes work at every stage of the pathway below, provided it has a biological or mechanistic basis and a clear route toward clinical application. The stages are illustrative, not exhaustive. Read the full Aims and Scope.
Molecular, cellular and physiological studies that explain how a disease process works.
Cell, tissue, animal and computational models that test a mechanism and its modulation.
Measures of risk, diagnosis, prognosis and response, from discovery through validation in patients.
Interventions and clinical studies that carry a mechanistic finding toward patient care.
The journal accepts seven article types.
Every manuscript follows the same path. Payment, membership or role does not change how a manuscript is reviewed or decided.
