How the board works
The editorial board oversees peer review and upholds the journal's standards for evolutionary research.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Editors recuse themselves from decisions on their own submissions; those manuscripts are handled independently. Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Those decisions are independent of fees, services, memberships, and editorial roles.
- Peer review
- Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.

Research areas
My research interests include biogeochemical processes of nutrients, heavy metals and other contaminants in surface waters (rivers, lakes, wetlands) and farmlands, ecological engineering for wastewater treatment, e.g. phytoremediation, treatment wetlands, ecological ditches, etc. I have published over 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals related to biogeochemical processes of contaminants and ecological treatment technologies, in which more than 40 papers were published in international journals indexed by SCI.
