What publishing in this journal costs
The Journal of Digestive Disorders and Diagnosis charges a single article processing charge of USD 2,100, and it is charged only after a manuscript has been accepted.
There is no charge to submit, and no charge for a manuscript that is not accepted. The charge covers peer-review administration, editing, production, hosting and permanent open-access distribution.

How the charge works

Submission
No fee is payable to submit a manuscript to the journal.

Review and decision
No fee is payable during review, and none is payable on a manuscript the journal does not accept. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Editorial decisions are independent of fees, membership, editorial or reviewing roles, and optional author services.

Acceptance
On acceptance the article processing charge of USD 2,100 becomes payable. The charge may be met by the author, an institution or a funder.

Publication
The article is published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and the author retains copyright.
Withdrawal
If a manuscript is withdrawn
Withdrawal terms
Authors should contact the editorial office promptly and wait for written confirmation before submitting the work elsewhere.
Manuscripts withdrawn within 3 days of submission are not subject to a withdrawal charge.
Manuscripts withdrawn more than 3 days after submission incur a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the journal's APC.
Authors must receive official withdrawal confirmation before submitting the manuscript to another journal.
