Development - Birds
Birds are a widely diverse and successful group of animals that can be found on every continent including Antarctica. They are characterized by their feathers, lightweight skeleton, and unique, adapted behavior. Development of birds is a key area of focus in evolutionary biology as it provides insight into how life forms adapts and grow. Studies of avian development have shown that birds’ bodies and behavior evolve in response to the environment, enabling them to survive and thrive in an ever-changing world. In addition, birds are often used as model organisms in biomedical research. Studying their development gives us insight into human development, as well as providing the opportunity for new medical treatments and interventions. Avian development has also been used to study the effects of pollution and climate change, helping to inform our environmental conservation efforts.
