Oceanography
Oceanography is the study of the Earth's oceans. It examines the physical, chemical, and biological properties and processes of the ocean, as well as its interaction with the atmosphere and land. Oceanography is an important scientific field, providing important knowledge and understanding of the Earth's oceans, which are a major component of the Earth's climate system, in addition to playing an important role in human life. Oceanography is used to monitor and understand climate change, to characterise and manage ocean resources, to track ocean-atmosphere interactions, to monitor commercial fisheries, and to aid navigation and marine engineering.
