Ocean Temperature
Ocean temperature is a measure of the heat energy stored in the ocean. It is an important indicator of the health of oceans and the global climate. Ocean temperatures are rising due to global warming, and this has serious implications for marine ecosystems, sea level rise, and other effects of climate change such as extreme weather events. Warmer ocean temperatures also affect air temperature, humidity, and winds, creating larger and more powerful storms. Monitoring ocean temperatures helps us better understand and predict these climatic changes, and can provide guidance for the development of sustainable policies for adaptation and mitigation.
