Marine Ecosystems
Marine ecosystems are bodies of water that support a dynamic and diverse range of living organisms. The dynamic interactions between living and non-living components within marine ecosystems provide essential services to humans, including food, clean air and water, and climate regulation. Marine ecosystems are also important for species conservation, providing a habitat for many endangered species and playing a critical role in maintaining a balanced global climate. Despite the ecological, economic, and social importance of marine ecosystems, human activities are increasingly putting them under threat. Pollutants, overfishing, coastal development, and climate change are among the most pressing threats to the health of these systems and must be addressed to ensure their continued health and productivity.
