Marine Archaeology

Marine Archaeology is the study of past human activities and cultures through the investigation of materials found in the marine environment. It is a crucial field of research as it helps to provide unique insight into the history of human societies around the world. Through the analysis of archaeological sites, shipwrecks, and artefacts recovered from the seafloor, researchers are able to reconstruct past societies, changes in trade and exchange networks, and technological advancements. Marine Archaeology is also an important tool for managing and protecting archaeological sites and artefacts from threats such as coastal erosion and looting. It helps to inform both conservation and management decisions for the marine environment.
