Marine and Aquatic Sciences Paleontology

Marine and Aquatic Sciences Paleontology is the study of the fossils found in marine and aquatic deposits. It provides insights into past life forms and how they evolved over time. This understanding can be used to improve conservation and management of marine and aquatic environments, inform geologic processes, and provide clues to Earth’s past climate and environment. Paleontological studies are also important in developing a more complete understanding of the geologic timescale and associated plate tectonic processes.
